Fat dissolving uses a compound (deoxycholic acid) that is placed into stubborn areas of fatty tissue using needles (aqualyx) or a cannula (DesoFace/ DesoBody). The dissolving product replicates the effect of acids produced in our stomach that help to break down fat by destroying the cell membrane and allowing the fat to be broken down. Our lymphatic drainage system then helps to excrete the broken down fat cells as waste product over a period of 4-8 weeks.

Treatment time: 30-90mins (Varies depending on size of area to be treated)

Pain level: Minimal-moderate (Lidocaine is added to product to make treatment more comfortable)

Recovery Time: Swelling is an expected side effect of treatment and requires 2-3 weeks to settle. Can return to regular activity straight away but some tenderness to area treated may require additional recovery before higher intensity exercise is resumed.
